By now, most people interested in general home theater and audio equipment have heard about 4K TVs. At the very least, you’ve probably seen one in a store or in a friend’s house and marveled at the bright picture.

Why are Pixels in 4K TVs important?
4K TVs have about four times as many pixels as a standard 1080p TV. In fact, 4K is basically a 2160p television. That obviously sounds like a good thing, though it may not be as impactful as you think.
When you’re more than 10 feet away from the television, those pixels may not be as visible to the human eye. If you’re closer than 10 feet, you’ll likely enjoy those extra pixels in the form of a more present and vibrant image.
Your other option is to go with a bigger television, if you like to sit more than 10 feet away. In general, 50-inches or more should give you picture quality that’s unrivaled from almost anywhere in the room.
What is a refresh rate?
A refresh rate is how often a TV shows a new image. Refresh rates matter since they can make your content feel natural or phony. 4K TVs often come in with a refresh rate of 120hZ.
Why should you ignore the sound?
One final caveat when you’re trying to figure out if you want to buy 4K TVs or not – you don’t need to worry about the sound. The truth is that there aren’t many TVs out there that put out quality sound, at least not compared to a decent, inexpensive sound bar.
Even better, though, would be to pair your 4K TV and its excellent picture with a quality home audio system. By doing that, you don’t even have to worry about the sound quality of the TV since it will be bypassed and the improved sound will come through the audio system.
Whether you buy a 4K TV is up to you as a consumer, but for the most part, they are the future of televisions. Like 780p TVs before them, 1080p TVs will soon be a thing of the past.
Many peripherals and features that you want won’t be available with standard 1080p TVs anymore as manufacturers move away from them. If you want the newest and best, 4K really is the only way to go in most cases.
